The Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) is inviting applications for the Hertfordshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Action Fund.
The aim of the Police and Crime Commissioner's Fund is to support community and voluntary initiatives which will reduce crime and make Hertfordshire a safer place to live by helping to deliver the priorities of the Community Safety and Criminal Justice Plan for Hertfordshire.

The four priorities and the activities which they include are:

Funding Information
Grants of up to £5,000 are available from the Police Commissioner's Action Fund.
What can they fund?
Proposals can cover a range of activities lasting up to a year. These can include, but are not limited to: practical activities, research projects, awareness raising or training.
Eligibility Criteria
- The fund is open to voluntary and community groups, charitable and not for profit organisations, including uniformed youth groups. Community Safety Partnerships and Parish, Town and District Councils can also apply.
- The Commissioner particularly wants to support innovative projects which have sprung from local collaborations and partnerships and can make a lasting difference to communities in terms of safety.
- Size of group: This fund prioritises smaller local initiatives. Charitable groups with an income of more than £1m will not normally be considered.
- You are a not for profit voluntary or community group, active in your local community, with a written constitution or set of rules. Alternatively, you are a Community Safety Partnership (with Terms of Reference), a Parish, Town or District Council.
- This set of rules has at least the name of your group, its aims or purpose, objects, a dissolution clause for the group, a list of Trustees/Committee members and Trustee/Committee members' signature. Please be aware they do require the organization to have at least three independent trustees/management committee members.
- Your organization has its own bank account with at least two independent signatories and all the relevant Equal Opportunities and Safeguarding Policies required for your work. (For CSPs there would be a nominated council bank account)
- You are based in Hertfordshire or can show specifically how people in Hertfordshire benefit from your activities.
