The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a public call for project proposals is realized within the activity “Leaders in Action: Emancipation and provision of services within humanitarian and emergency practices during the pandemic”, which is implemented as part of the project Women in Elections in BiH (hereinafter WIE), funded by the Government of Sweden.
The general objective of this call is to support women’s initiatives, in response to identified social needs in emergencies. The implementation of these initiatives at the local level aims to contribute to building dynamic and inclusive communities through the active involvement of women and innovative ideas, which will enable a better life for residents in these communities, especially for those in greater need. Accordingly, the Public Call aims to encourage initiatives of community organizations, which contribute to the improvement of social aspects and the well-being of the community as a whole.
The aim of this public call is rapid and targeted interventions, which will increase the strength and credibility of women’s leadership in the country, encourage and support activism and social cohesion and, where possible, offer solutions to important local social needs.
Focus Areas
Areas within which project proposals can be submitted are the following:
- Local initiatives to start agricultural cooperatives and support for women engaged in agricultural production;
- Support to seamstresses and individual capacities for the production of medical visors and adjustment of production to current needs, in accordance with the needs for individual health care (masks, protective suits) in ten partners LGUs;
- Social innovations or initiatives that reduce the pressure caused by the complete or partial unavailability of public services for children, adolescents and the elderly, especially in the field of preschool education and care, and new online educational content complementary to existing services in the local community.
- The public call is aimed at supporting project proposals in 10 local self-government units, namely: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gracanica, Laktaši, Ljubuški, Nevesinje, Olovo, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Tešanj, Zenica.
Funding Information
- Financial support for local initiatives per individual project with which it is applied cannot be lower than 3,000 KM, nor higher of 15,000 KM for each local self-government in which the project is implemented.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to meet the eligibility requirements, applicants must be legally registered legal entities in BiH which can be:
- Non-profit / non-governmental organizations;
- Citizens’ associations with the aim of improving public services for children, adolescents and people of the third age;
- Agricultural cooperatives, etc.
- Direct beneficiaries within this public call are legal entities that meet the requirements of this call, and that is yes must:
- have a seat in the area of 10 local self-government units, as follows: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gracanica, Laktasi, Ljubuski, Nevesinje, Olovo, Stari Grad Sarajevo, Tesanj, Zenica;
- be registered for at least one year from the date of application for this call;
- have successfully completed one project in the last 18 months in the minimum value of the application that submits to this call to demonstrate the possession of the conditions for fulfilling the obligations that would arise from the project proposal.
