The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced a Call for Proposals for the Implementation of Livelihood Support Activities under the “Improvement of Central Karakoram National Park (CKNP) Management System as Model for Mountain Ecosystems in Northern Pakistan”.
Objectives
The main objective of the current assignment, in line with the objectives of the project is to improve the governance of mountain ecosystems in northern Pakistan, with regards to ecosystem services, nature conservation, the sustainable use of natural resources and promotion of effective response to climate change.
Specific objective relates to Output 3 of the project, that includes:
- Livelihoods: Sustainable livelihood options for local communities in the project area created, and their capacity for benefiting from these options is enhanced, with a view of mitigating the impacts of climate change on local communities in mountainous ecosystems.
Funding Information
- Financial Proposal amount should not exceed USD 50,000 (or PKR equivalent based on prevailing UN operational exchange rate at the date of submission of the proposal) for all competitively sourced activities.
- The amount requested in the proposal should be commensurate with the organization’s administrative and financial management capabilities. In principle, project duration will not exceed five (03) months.
Final Beneficiaries
- Responsive proposals will be those focused on strengthening sustainable natural resources management practices in Gilgit-Baltistan, with a particular focus on ensuring the needs of people (men, women and children) and environment residing in the buffer zone valleys of CKNP and DNP.
Eligibility Criteria
- The eligibility and qualification of the NGO/CSOs for the assignment shall be assessed based upon the information furnished in the Request for Information (RFI) questionnaire and capacity assessment checklist which are attached to the Call for Proposal (CFP).
- NGO/CSOs submitting proposals in response to CFP are required to fill out the RFI questionnaire and CACHE, attaching all supporting documentation were specifically requested. Attachments should be provided to support each answer to the questions in RFI questionnaire and CACHE.
- All questions must be answered directly and clearly. Extraneous information that is not directly responding to the questions will only constrain the ability of UNDP to positively assess the NGOs alignment with UNDP requirements.

- CVs of the key personnel that will be assigned to this project;
- Request for Information (RFI) form;
- Capacity Assessment Checklist;

- Model RPA Contract.
