The Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is currently accepting proposals from NGOs under the project “Harmonization of Information Management for Improved Knowledge and Monitoring of Global Environment in Georgia” (CCCD in Georgia).
This call for proposals will support the intention to mobilize media and academic sector to proactively engage in monitoring and cooperation activities related to climate change, biodiversity and land by providing funding opportunity to local NGOs for arranging targeted advocating and awareness raising campaigns.
UNDP/GEF CCCD project seeks to select qualified non‐governmental organization (or a group of NGOs) to support enhancement of awareness of media and academic sector for active involvement in the activities promoting biodiversity conservation, climate change adaption and mitigation and sustainable land management.
Grant Information
- Up to 25 000 USD including management costs.
- Maximum 4 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible NGOs are legally registered national NGOs.
- The applicant can be an individual NGO or a consortium of NGOs. In case of a consortium a lead NGO should apply on behalf of the consortium.
- At least 2 years’ experience in implementing awareness raising activities/trainings within the environmental protection projects in Georgia.
- At least one project documenting experience in working with non‐state sector.
- At least 1 project of the value no less than USD 50,000 within the last 3 years.
- Good track record confirmed by at least 1 letter of reference from the clients and or donors on the projects implemented at least within the last 3 years.
- Previous experience of working with the UN or other development agencies, preferably in the areas of environmental protection.
- Good tax payment record.
- Sound financial management, monitoring and reporting practices demonstrated by at least 3 projects funded by the UN or other international donor organization.
