The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Planning, Research, and Evaluation (OPRE) within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) have announced the availability of funds for the Family Self-Sufficiency Demonstration Development Grants Program to support planning for and execution of evaluation-related activities by eligible entities that serve low-income families with children.

The Family Self-Sufficiency Demonstration Development Grants will complement prior evaluation TA efforts to support continued improvement of services to low-income families through evidence generation.

Under this FOA, ACF seeks to identify eligible entities implementing multi-faceted approaches to support family economic self-sufficiency and wellbeing that are interested in enhancing their organization’s research and evaluation capacity. This FOA seeks potential applicants that collaborate with one or more state or local social services agencies that administer or coordinate with TANF-funded services.

Examples of the types of interventions that are of interest to ACF include, but are not limited to, the following:

Grantees funded under this FOA will be required to work closely with ACF and its third-party evaluation TA provider to use evidence-informed approaches to strengthen their intervention and conduct initial activities necessary to prepare for testing the effectiveness of the intervention and/or conducting an implementation evaluation.
