Deadline: 18-Jan-21
The U.S. Agency for International Development Mission in the Philippines (USAID/Philippines), invites applications for funding from all eligible organizations to carry out activities that will contribute to the improvement of natural resource security and governance in the Philippines.
The Goal of this Addendum is to advance natural resource resilience and security through the increased participation of CSOs, media and communities in natural resource governance.
Objectives
- Enhancing the capacity of local civil society organizations (CSOs) and communities to demand for and participate in good natural resource governance and the media to report on it;
- Enhancing legal frameworks, including customary rights to land and coastal areas, within biologically significant areas, and the appropriate allocation of rights to natural resources; and
- Improving the transparency and accountability for how natural resources are managed, extracted and brought to market.
Funding Information
- USAID intends to provide funding for this activity in the range between $14 million to $16 million over a period of five (5) years.
Geographic Scope
- The grant portion of this activity will be implemented primarily at the site level. However, implementation at the site level should always have an eye towards replication and scale-up. Twenty to thirty percent of the activity will specifically go towards replicating and scaling-up interventions across the Philippines.
- This may include establishing or strengthening a network of natural resource governance CSOs across the Philippines to more effectively advocate for environmental policies and procedures. A platform for CSOs peer-to-peer learning and exchanges is another idea to consider.
