The United States Agency for International Development in Bangladesh (USAID/Bangladesh) is seeking concept notes from qualified U.S. and non-U.S. organizations for selecting an organization in the award of a cooperative agreement in the implementation of the Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity.
The Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity will improve nutrition outcomes for children under five, pregnant and lactating women and adolescent girls in the south west region of Bangladesh. This will be achieved through increased consumption of nutritious, diverse and safe diets by rural households, increased social and economic empowerment of women and girls, and improved access to and adoption of improved water, sanitation and hygiene practices.
The Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity will support Government of Bangladesh (GoB) priorities and the recently finalized Seventh Five-Year Plan Agricultural Development Strategy. It is also aligned with the Bangladesh Country Investment Plan (CIP), a five-year plan to ensure sustainable food security through public investment in agriculture, food security and nutrition.
Activity Objective
The Feed the Future Bangladesh Nutrition Activity will improve the nutrition and health of children less than five years of age, pregnant and lactating women, and adolescents (10-18 years old) in the Zone of Influence. It will achieve this objective by means of three high level results:
- Result 1 – Increased consumption of nutritious, diverse and safe diets by rural households.
- Result 2 – Increased social and economic empowerment of women and adolescents (10-18 years).
- Result 3 – Improved access to and adoption of improved water, sanitation and hygiene practices.
Funding Information
- Subject to funding availability, USAID intends to provide up to $24,500,000 in total funding over a five year period.
- The ceiling for this program is $24,500,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be non-governmental U.S. and non U.S. entities, otherwise there is no restriction.
- Entities such as non-profit organizations, profit making concerns, Private Voluntary Organizations (PVOs), Public International Organizations (PIOs), faith-based and community organizations, educational institutions, etc., are eligible to submit concept notes.
