Women’s and Children’s Health Research Data Coordinating Center (US)

Deadline: 28-Oct-22

The Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) invites U.S. institutions to submit applications to participate in the Global Network for Womens and Childrens Health Researchs Data Coordinating Center.

The Data Coordinating Center will work with Research Units of U.S.-based research centers partnering with institutions in low-income countries to conduct multi-center observational studies and randomized clinical trials evaluating disease processes, health and wellness outcomes, and results from interventions in resource-poor settings to address the major causes of maternal, neonatal, infant, and early childhood morbidity and mortality. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites applications for a Global Network Data Coordinating Center; a separate FOA invites applications for Global Network Research Units.

The purpose of the Global Network for Women’s and Children’s Health Research is to improve health outcomes for women and children in low- and lower-middle-income countries (as defined by the World Bank) by researching sustainable, cost-effective health interventions, and strengthening research infrastructure and public health intervention capabilities in developing countries. The Network will increase opportunities for scientific linkages, interaction, knowledge development and transfer, and collaborative partnerships among U.S. and foreign investigators and institutions.
