“Women’s Foundation in Georgia” announces the competition of community grants for organizations and initiative groups in Guria, Racha, Kakheti and Imereti.
The partners of the project are: ” Women for a Common Future – Georgia ” , ” Council of Elderly Women ” , ” Women and Reality ” , ” Rachi Community Organization ” and ” Union of Young Teachers ” . The financial supporter of the project is the European Union.
The grant program aims to support women’s and queer community initiatives that serve to improve the economic, political and social status of women. In particular, the priority topics will be: women’s economic empowerment, easing the burden of unpaid work, encouraging women’s political participation, increasing awareness of gender equality, promoting the realization of the rights of women with disabilities, empowering women entrepreneurs, gender aspects of war.
Activities
- ” Women’s Fund in Georgia ” will receive applications from women and queer people living and working in the target region. Suggested activities can be the following:
- Capacity building, training and education of local civic groups;
- Coalition and network work among community organizations;
- Analysis of needs, priorities and policies of target groups;
- Developing recommendations for local and national governments;
- Conducting a dialogue with decision makers on the priorities of the target groups;
- Awareness raising, (social) media campaigns and events;
- Monitoring of policy implementation;
- Initiatives that will help empower women entrepreneurs;
- Showcasing best practices;
- Other.
Funding Information
- The maximum grant amount is 8000 euros. The duration of the projects is determined up to 8 – 10 months.
Eligible Projects
- Within the framework of the competition, the Women’s Fund will support the following projects:
- Which are carried out by women/queer people
- Whose direct and ultimate beneficiaries are women/queer people
- Priority will be given to initiatives that focus on the rights of marginalized groups (women with disabilities, ethnic and religious minorities, queer people, rural women, etc.).
Eligibility Criteria
- The following can participate in the competition:
- Registered or informal groups living and working in Guria, Racha, Imereti and Kakheti;
- Priority will be given to those applicants who participated in the trainings organized by the project’s partner organizations.
