Applications for Yealm Community Energy (YCE) Community Benefit Fund are now open. This round is for Environmental Projects only.
The purpose of the fund is to support community and voluntary organisations operating within the Parishes of Brixton, Holbeton, Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, Wembury and Yealmpton.
Funding Information
- The amount available to the Community Benefit Fund is dependent on the performance of the solar array so will vary each year. There is no maximum or minimum limit set for a grant; preference is for a maximum of £2500.
What is the process for awarding a grant?
- On receipt of a grant application YCE and the Community Benefit Fund panel will:
- Verify:
- the organisation in whose name the application is being made
- the applicant as a representative of the organisation
- Validate:
- the purpose to which the grant will be put aligns with the Community Benefit Fund criteria for awarding grants
- there is sufficient information provided on the application to make a decision as to whether to award the grant; the applicant will be contacted if further information or a meeting is required
- the track record of the organisation indicates that the risk of the grant not being spent is low
- Consider:
- the beneficial impact on the community accruing as a result of the grant
- the likelihood of the successful completion of the activity which the grant is to support
- the extent to which the application has attracted other support, e.g. match funding
- Conclude:
- a decision will be made whether or not to award the grant; this decision is final
- notify the result of the decision to the applicant
- Follow-up:
- measure the impact of grants awarded via the grant monitoring report.
