Apply for AGI’s Photography Contest to Celebrate Earth Science Week 2017!

The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is seeking applications for its photography contest to celebrate Earth Science Week 2017. The photography theme for this year is: “Earth and Human Activity Here.”

Humans, individually and in groups, interact with the planet’s natural systems in many way. These natural systems include the geosphere (land), hydrosphere (water), atmosphere (air), and biosphere (living things). With a camera, applicants can capture evidence of some ways people affect, or are affected by, Earth systems around their home, neighborhood, school, workplace, or local public spaces. In a photo, show human interaction with natural systems where they are.

Prize Information

The winner will receive a prize of $300 USD, a copy of AGI’s The Geoscience Handbook, and applicant’s photograph will be used on the Earth Science Week Website. The winner’s and finalists’ names will be posted on the Earth Science Week Website. All other expenses not stated are the sole responsibility of the winners. No cash substitution for prizes will be permitted and prizes are nontransferable.
