The Human Trafficking Foundation is excited to announce the Nominations for the Anti-Slavery Day Awards 2022.
The Human Trafficking Foundation holds an annual Awards Ceremony to mark Anti-Slavery Day, supported by the Marsh Awards Trust. They recognize the work of groups or individuals who fight Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking.
There are four awards to recognize exemplary work which has a significant impact on the fight against modern slavery.
Categories
Media Categories and Outstanding Contributions to the Fight Against Slavery

Outstanding Contributions
- Reducing Vulnerabilities (Advocacy Award): This category recognizes those working to achieve systemic change to reduce the prevalence of trafficking or improving outcomes for survivors' rights and entitlements on a long-term basis. Examples of work within this category could include campaigns to support individuals to access their rights or work for rights-based policy change.
- Rebuilding Lives (Frontline Award): This category recognizes those in the sector working to enhance support for survivors. It considers work that takes a holistic approach to addressing individual needs and helps survivors rebuild their lives and strengthen resili ence.
- Empowering Survivor Voices: This category recognizes the truly remarkable impact of survivor leaders' voices who have shaped the agenda in the sector and empowered others to do the same. This award also celebrates those in the sector whose work is consistently informed by the lived experience of survivors.
- Statutory Services Award: This category recognises the outstanding contribution of statutory services who have gone above and beyond their legal duties to respond to modern slavery. Examples of work within this category could be an individual who has championed modern slavery or an organisation who has embedded a systems change approach.

- The Anti-Slavery Day Media Awards recognize the work of those journalists and writers who have highlighted the nature and prevalence of modern slavery and human trafficking and and sought to improve understanding.

The media categories are as follows:
- Best written opinion piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best news piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best investigative news article dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best br oa dcast piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking.
Funding Information
Anyone professionally connected to modern slavery or anyone who benefits from the services a modern slavery organization provides can send in a nomination. Each award winner will receive a grant of £1000.
Who can be nominated?
any individual, organization or group who has made a significant contribution to preventing or addressing Modern Slavery. Appointments of public officials are welcomed. They are not accepting self-nominations or nominations for the organization you work for.
All nominations will be judged on the following additional criteria:
- Working in Partnership/Collaboration
- Working to improve long-term outcomes for survivors
- Innovation and or demonstration of why this approach works well.
- Going beyond what is expected
