The Human Trafficking Foundation (HTF) is seeking nominations for its Anti- Slavery Day Awards 2019 to recognize the vital work of the media in increasing awareness and understanding of modern slavery.
The additional outstanding contribution categories recognise individuals and organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors who have gone beyond expectations in fighting slavery within their field.
Categories
- Media
- They welcome nominations of any UK media journalist, writer, producer or director, for work covering issues of modern slavery or human trafficking either in the UK or globally in the following categories:
- Best written opinion piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best written news piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best investigative news article dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Best broadcast piece dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking – Broadcast includes radio, TV documentaries and news pieces, podcasts etc.
- Best film dealing with modern slavery or human trafficking
- Media outlet making an outstanding contribution to the fight against slavery
- They welcome nominations of any UK media journalist, writer, producer or director, for work covering issues of modern slavery or human trafficking either in the UK or globally in the following categories:
- Outstanding Contribution to the Fight against Slavery
- The Marsh Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Fight Against Slavery recognise the work of groups or individuals who fight Modern Slavery in the UK and Internationally. This year, they are particularly interested in recognising the work of individuals going beyond what is expected and are especially encouraging nominations of public officials not receiving the recognition they deserve. Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Reducing Vulnerabilities
- Individuals and organisations working to strengthen resilience to exploitation and reduce the prevalence of trafficking.
- Enabling and Supporting Survivors’ Rights and Entitlements
- Individuals and organisations working to improve outcomes for survivors’ rights and entitlements on a systemic long-term basis.
- Rebuilding Lives
- Individuals and organisations working to improve support for survivors.
- Reducing Vulnerabilities
