- This initiative comprises three main awards:
- Category A: Women Refugees

Award Objectives
- Category A – Women Refugee
- To highlight the challenges and resilience of women refugees.
- To provide a platform for self-expression and empowerment through storytelling.
- Category B – Women Working With NGOs
- To showcase the experiences and efforts of women working in NGOs.
- To demonstrate the impact of these NGOs on the lives of women refugees.
- Category C – Empowering Through Innovation
- To generate innovative solutions addressing the challenges faced by women refugees.
- To encourage creative thinking and problem-solving among youth.
Award Information
- Category A – Women Refugee
- Prizes: Monetary awards are allocated for the top two entries in this category.
- The first two winners will be awarded AED 50,000 each.
- Additional Recognition: Winners will receive certificates and have their stories or works featured on SFFWR-relevant platforms/media.
- Category B – Women Working With NGOs
- Prize: Scholarship for further education or professional development.
- Details: Full scholarships for the winner.
- Additional Opportunities: Winner will receive a certificate and the chance to network with professionals and gain exposure in their fields.
- Category C – Empowering Through Innovation
- Prizes: Recognition awards and mentorship opportunities.
- Monetary Award: AED 10,000 for each team member (in case of group submissions) or AED 40,000 for individual winner category.
- Mentorship Program: Includes three months of mentorship with industry experts, providing guidance and support for project development and implementation.
- Additional Recognition: Winners will receive certificates and have their stories or works featured on SFFWR-relevant platforms/media.

Eligibility Criteria
- Category A – Women Refugee
- Status: Participant must be officially recognized as a refugee by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) or the host country.
- Age: Must be 18 years or older.
- Residence: Currently residing in a host country or refugee camp.
- Vulnerabilities: Preference given to individuals facing additional vulnerabilities, such as being survivors of gender-based violence or living with disabilities.
- Category B – Women Working With NGOs
- Educational Qualification: Must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Employment Status: Must be employed full-time by an officially registered NGO that supports refugees.
- Experience: The NGO must have been operational and working with refugees for at least two years.
- Role: Applicants should have direct involvement in implementing programs that empower or assist refugee women and communities. Preference is given to those in leadership or managerial roles with considerable field experience
- Category C – Empowering Through Innovation
- Age Group: Participants should be within the age group of 18 and above.
- Team Composition: Projects can be submitted by individuals or groups of up to 4 members.
- Innovativeness: Proposals must demonstrate originality and innovative thinking in addressing the challenges faced by women refugees.
- Relevance: Projects should be relevant to the needs and circumstances of women refugees.
- Educational Background: There are no specific educational requirements, but a background or demonstrable interest in areas relevant to the project (e.g., technology, social sciences, humanitarian work) is advantageous.
