Peacecon 2023: New PeaceBuilding Architectures For Today and the Future

USAID/Papua New Guinea Peace Project

Deadline: 8-Feb-23

In partnership with the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), the Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is proud to announce the theme for PeaceCon 2023: Beyond Fragile Ground: New Peacebuilding Architectures for Today and the Future, taking place in-person and virtually, May 3-5, 2023.

Entering its 11th year, PeaceCon is the largest annual gathering of global peacebuilders held in the United States. The new hybrid format will allow them to connect in person and continue to attract a diverse set of voices, expertise, and ideas from a global audience.

The peacebuilding field has grown significantly in the last two decades, seeing substantial wins, including the adoption of the Global Fragility Act (GFA), the United Nations (UN) Sustaining Peace Agenda, and the World Bank Group Strategy for Fragility, Conflict, and Violence. Yet many challenges remain.

PeaceCon 2023 convenes at a time of extraordinary global turbulence. The number of compounding crises facing the field is unprecedented.
