The Gwaertler Stiftung is inviting applications for its Gwaertler Grant Program to supports work in the arts that seeks to make a concrete difference to the context in which it is presented.

The grant is specifically intended for Swiss and international practitioners across all artistic disciplines who are at the early stages of a project and need support for a wide range of activities, such as archival research, connecting with people from other disciplines, active fieldwork, cross-cultural collaboration, conducting interviews, taking courses, organising workshops, experimenting with techniques, and voluntary apprenticeships.

Successful applicants can receive an award of up to 12,000 CHF, depending on the funds available for each round. The upcoming application round will open on 15 September 2025 at 4:00 PM Switzerland time and will close once 500 applications have been received. Applicants may only submit one application per year, while successful candidates who receive support may reapply only after a gap of two years. A project proposal can be submitted only once.

Applications must be submitted in the form of a single PDF document with a maximum length of three pages. Longer applications will not be considered. The PDF should include a description of what the applicant wants to do in up to 500 words, examples of previous work with relevant links, a rough budget, and a brief CV with relevant links. Receipt of applications will be confirmed via email.
