RFAs: Hinrich Foundation Research Grant Program

Submit Applications for Small Research Grant Program 2025 (Indonesia)

Deadline: 31-Oct-2025

The Hinrich Foundation Research Grant Program is inviting researchers and organizations to submit proposals for projects that deepen the understanding of global trade issues and contribute to policy development.

The Foundation’s international trade research program promotes research across trade-related sectors, particularly related – in no order of preference – to sustainable trade, digital trade, cross-border investment, and the nexus of trade and geopolitics.

Projects are expected to be completed within four months, with key milestones such as the commencement date, first draft deliverable, and final draft deliverable clearly stated. Interim articles of around 1,600 words may be requested to share progress before the final submission. Funding support is negotiable and typically paid upon completion of the project.

Deliverables should describe the format, including a table of contents or outline. To maximise readability, research outputs may include articles of up to 1,600 words and papers of 3,000–4,000 words, and may summarize larger or previously published work. All research products are subject to editorial review. If the researcher is part of an academic or research institution, proposals should specify the institution’s role, noting that funding may not be allocated to institutional overhead.

Researchers are asked to submit proposals of up to 1,000 words that include the following details: the project title; information about the research team, including the principal investigator’s title, name, affiliation, contact details, and curriculum vitae, as well as titles, names, affiliations, and roles of other team members; anticipated industry participation; project rationale explaining the issues and related sectors addressed, contributions to knowledge or practice, and expected outcomes; and the 2–4 key research questions the project seeks to answer.

Proposals should also outline the approach or methodology, detailing the type of information to be collected, means of gathering, analysis, interpretation, and application, including sampling strategy, scope, and methods of analysis where appropriate.

The next submission deadline is October 31, 2025, offering an important opportunity for researchers and organizations to contribute to critical global trade discussions.
