Purpose
EIT Manufacturing organises the EIT Manufacturing Competition 2023 under the brand name “BoostUp! East 2023”, a competition for startups in the manufacturing sector from Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia.
“BoostUp! East 2023” is open to startups from Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia with solutions in the realm of manufacturing technologies. In particular, submissions need to fit one of the following EIT Manufacturing focus areas as well as the following technology domains: Simulation & Advanced Engineering Tools, Industrial VR/AR, Industrial Robotics, Logistics Tech, Additive Manufacturing (3D printing), Predictive Maintenance, Advanced Sensors, Advanced Detection (IR/Noise/etc.), Industrial Cybersecurity, Connectivity and IoT Infrastructure, Data analytics/AI, Digital Twins, and Green Manufacturing Tech.

Funding Information
- If you succeed to be among the shortlisted finalists from the first phase, the Business Creation team of EIT Manufacturing East will provide you with a “growth package” service support for a total duration of up to two months.
- The top 3 winning startups, selected on the 2nd phase, will receive prize awards to support their European expansion strategy. The prize fund is as follows:
- First prize: €7,000
- Second prize: €5,000
- Third prize: €3,000
- What is more, a special prize of €5,000 will be offered by Vienna Business Agency to a promising green tech startup or a female-led startup.
- Up to 10 finalists startups shortlisted for the 2nd phase will receive exclusive “growth packages” of dedicated Access-to-Market support services provided by the EIT Manufacturing Business Creation team that aims at supporting their internationalization strategy and fostering their innovation. Finalists will also obtain access to EIT Manufacturing’s pan-European innovation network and thus enhance their visibility and international publicity through EIT Manufacturing’s communication channels.
Eligibility Criteria
- BoostUp! East 2023 is open to startups from Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovakia, and Slovenia with solutions in the realm of manufacturing technologies.
- The applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Applicants have to prove revenue traction (by providing recurring revenues from existing reference customers);
- The business development plans (incl. financial aspects) shall be disclosed;
- The application shall provide a complete application form, pitch deck, logo, and company registration certificate;
- Startups that have been shortlisted for the 2nd phase of any edition of BoostUp! Competition that took place or will take place before the launch of the “BoostUp! East 2023” call are NOT eligible.
