Deadline: 17-Jul-23
Applications are now open for the 2023 European Health Leadership Award (EHLA) to showcase and support the achievements of organisations that display exceptional leadership in safeguarding or improving the health of people in the WHO European Region.
The EHLA encourages winners to become an inspiration for others and supports them in generating a greater impact. Each year, the EHLA tries to identify and support change-makers whose work represents efforts in line with the EHFG main theme. This year, they want to explore ways to counter the multiple shockwaves affecting the health systems and overcome the palpable sense of fatigue caused by a feeling that major challenges are beyond the power to influence. From the pandemic to the war in Ukraine, the cost-of-living crisis, and the climate emergency, the health systems, and in particular the health and care workforce, are being stretched to their limits.
The EHLA 2023 seeks to identify an ongoing grassroot initiative from an organisation that is working to address one of these crises and build more sustainable and shock-proof health systems in Europe. Grassroot initiatives can include small-scale projects; low-budget initiatives; movements and organisations using bottom-up approaches and collective action to implement change at the local, regional, national or international level.
