The FedEx Small Business Grant Contest is a grant program by FedEx to award ten (10) small businesses with grants up to $25,000 (Cdn) and industry expertise support.

Sponsor will announce the top 75 finalists on the contest website on May 29, 2018. The top 75 finalists will be notified via email and asked to provide a second-round submission video by June 6, 2018. Sponsor will announce the winners on June 19, 2018.

Prize

There will be a total of ten (10) winners:

Grand prize:
- One (1) winner of a $25,000 CAD grant, plus:
- One (1) meeting with FedEx Express Canada President Lisa Lisson, Session will be one hour in length and discussion will be limited to the topics of Lisa’s experiences and insights in business.
- One (1) brand marketing workshop with Fleishman Hillard HighRoad ($10,000 CAD estimated value).
- Workshop will be individually tailored to the needs of the contest winners. Services vary from public relations, influencer relations, strategy development, and digital and social strategy.
- One (1) meeting with a Canadian small/medium business consultant ($5,000 CAD estimated value).
- Session will be limited to the topics of small business growth.
- Total estimated retail value of Grand Prize is $40,000 CAD.
- Meeting with Lisa Lisson is dependent on her availability; in the event a meeting cannot be reasonably arranged, this part of the Grand Prize may be cancelled, with no replacement.

Silver prize:
- One (1) winner of a $15,000 CAD grant, plus
- One (1) meeting with a Canadian small/medium business consultant ($5,000 CAD estimated value).
- Session will be limited to the topics of small business growth.
- Total estimated value of Silver prize is $20,000 CAD.
Bronze prize:
- Eight (8) winners who will each receive a $5,000 CAD grant.
- Total estimated value of all Grants and Prizes: $100,000 CAD ($80,000 CAD in cash plus an estimated $20,000 CAD in agency support and consultation) (each a “Prize” and together, the “Prizes”).

Eligibility Criteria

The Contest is open only to legal residents of Canada who at the time of entry are independent owners/operators of a for-profit small business that is domiciled in Canada which has been in continuous operation selling a product or service for not less than six (6) months at the start of the contest.
In order to be considered an eligible “small business” for purposes of this Contest, the business must meet all of the following criteria:
- Entrant/owner must have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of Entry.
- The business must be currently active, lawful, have all necessary and required licenses and registrations.
- Entrant/owner must be an authorized agent of the registered business for purposes of entering this contest.
- The business must be in good standing as of the date of Entry and must remain so through the end of the Contest.
- The business must have at least 1 and not more than 99 employees on its payroll.
- Not in any way affiliated with a franchised or direct seller business.
- The primary purpose of the business must not be in competition with FedEx or any FedEx operating companies.
- Not under bankruptcy protection or have judicial liens or attachments.
- Upon request by Sponsor, an Entrant must provide proof of their identity and qualification under the above eligibility criteria. Sponsor shall determine, in its sole discretion, whether an entry meets the eligibility criteria to participate in the Contest. Sponsor’s decisions regarding eligibility and all other aspects of the Contest are final and binding.
- Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies, and each of their respective, officers, directors, employees, agents and persons engaged in the development, production or distribution of materials for this Contest (collectively, the “Contest Parties”) and the immediate family members (i.e., parent, child, sibling, and spouse) of each and/or persons with whom such individuals are domiciled (whether related or not) are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
- This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and local laws and regulations, and is void in all other geographic locations where prohibited by law.
