The Global Partnership for Education Secretariat has approved US$360,600 for Nicaragua to prepare a new education program. UNICEF has been nominated by the local education group to serve as coordinating agency in Nicaragua.
The program development grant will support Nicaragua finance three activities: designing initiatives to improve the quality of learning of boys and girls in preschool; designing new proposals for interventions to expand focus on preschool infrastructure; and preparatory work for the inclusion of ESPIG as a project managed by the World Bank.
The program will be implemented through the collaboration between the World Bank, a key partner of the Global Partnership for Education, as grant agent and the Government of Nicaragua.
