The Maine Community Foundation is currently accepting applications for the Welch Charitable Fund 2020 Grant Program.
Priorities
Grants will be made to institutions primarily in Greater Portland. The fund supports specific projects and programs (rather than operating support) in the following areas:
The fund has particular interest in discrete capital investments, including capital campaigns.
Funding Information
- Total applications received in the last grant cycle: 51 totaling $810,889
- Number of grants awarded: 16 totaling $269,143
- Average grant size: $16,800
Eligibility Criteria
All applicants must meet the Maine Community Foundation’s general grant eligibility requirements. In addition, please note that:
- Applicants must serve the Greater Portland area.
- Grants cannot pay for program expenses that have already been incurred.
Note: Eligible organizations that have received grants from other Maine Community Foundation funds in the last 12 months are still eligible to apply to the Welch Charitable Fund.
