The World Food Programme (WFP) is calling for expressions for interests for the Implementation of the Emergency Response outside the Camp in Mauritania.
Areas of Intervention
- This call for project proposals is part of the implementation of the WFP Country Strategic Plan (CSP) 2024-2028 and specifically concerns strategic objective 1 “Provide refugees with an integrated package of assistance measures, including food products, school meals and nutritional support for the management and prevention of malnutrition” and particularly the activities of the emergency response program.

- The planned activities will be implemented in the wilaya of Hodh El Chargui.
Description of Activities
- WFP is seeking a cooperating partner who can conduct food assistance distributions to beneficiaries by performing the following tasks:
- Facilitate the process of targeting beneficiaries by getting involved in the mobilization of communities;
- Prepare distribution sites in collaboration with village committees: choice of secure, accessible sites with sufficient space to control crowds and allow smooth movement;
- Communicate the distribution schedule in time to beneficiaries and facilitate their mobilisation;
- Organize distributions by managing crowds and facilitating the movement of beneficiaries in the distribution site, and by delimiting a waiting area;
- Support the financial partner (FSP) to ensure monetary transfers by establishing a detailed schedule by location before each distribution cycle, mobilizing and organizing beneficiaries, observing payment operations and documenting any incidents and producing a distribution report by site.

Conditions
- The partner must demonstrate proven experience in the design and execution of projects or humanitarian aid programs for refugees. In addition, it must meet the following conditions:’
- Expertise and experience in managing emergency projects and supporting refugees or vulnerable populations
- Availability of qualified and mobilizable human resources to provide assistance to refugees
- Availability of additional funding for the targeted intervention area
- Added value/synergy and complementarity of other interventions led by the partner in the same intervention area
