These grants support projects in the areas of gender equality, women’s empowerment, disability and social inclusion, education, health, water and sanitation, disaster-related activities, and environmental protection, waste management and climate resilience.
Eligible applicants include educational institutions, associations or communities, foundations and other development-engaged entities that are not-for-profit and operate in the specified Indonesian provinces. Funding is available up to AUD 20,000 (approx IDR 200,000,000) per project and must be completed within 12 months of disbursement, with extensions until May 2027 possible. Applications must be submitted online via SmartyGrants by 23:59 WIB on Sunday 16 November 2025.
Projects must deliver clearly defined, achievable and measurable developmental outcomes. Applicants are required to provide a fully itemised and costed budget, outline their capacity for implementation, and demonstrate risk management, technical feasibility and alignment with DAP objectives. Projects involving staff salaries, micro-credit schemes, commercial ventures without community reinvestment, international travel, or routine administrative costs are ineligible.
Successful applicants will enter into a funding contract, maintain full financial records and submit a final completion report using the SmartyGrants system. All activities must adhere to the Australian Government’s Child Protection Policy and Environmental & Social Safeguards.
