UN Women calls for proposals to strengthen the capacity of civil society organizations and care cooperatives to provide care services to the elderly and/or people with disabilities.
The purpose of the call is to support the institutional strengthening and installed capacity of civil society organizations and care cooperatives that provide care services to older adults and / or people with disabilities. Work teams will be empowered and significant improvements will be provided to their equipment, to help multiply the scope of the actions developed by the organization in each community and context.
The United Nations entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, UN Women, based on the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works to eliminate discrimination against women and girls; for the empowerment of women, and for achieve equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, for the rights human beings, in humanitarian actions, in peace and security.
By placing women’s rights as the central axis of its work, UN Women leads and coordinates the efforts of the United Nations System to ensure that gender equality and mainstreaming commitments are translated into actions throughout the world. At the same time, it exercises substantive and coherent leadership to support priorities and efforts.
Priority Areas
The six priority areas are:
- Expand women’s voices, leadership and participation;
- Eliminate violence against women and girls;
- Strengthen the implementation of the women’s peace and security agenda;
- Increase the economic autonomy of women;
- Make gender equality priorities essential in plans, budgets national, local and sectoral statistics;
- Implement global norms, policies and benchmarks on gender equality and empowerment of women, laying the foundations for the adoption of measures by governments and other stakeholders at all levels.
Funding Information
- Projects will be financed from ARS $ 229,900 (two hundred and twenty-nine thousand nine hundred Argentine pesos) to ARS $ 919,600 (nine hundred nineteen thousand six hundred Argentine pesos).
Eligible Activities
The applicant civil society organization or care cooperative may request funding for develop the following activities:
- Institutional Strengthening Component
- Implement or improve organization systems, tools and data records to provide care for the elderly and / or disabled.
- Training and Communication Component
- Form work teams in technical, programmatic and care management skills elderly and / or disabled from a gender perspective.
- Plan and implement communication, dissemination and awareness actions on the importance of the democratization of paid and unpaid care.
- Equipment Component
- Reconvert, read just, expand and / or equip spaces to provide improvements in care services to elderly and / or disabled people, through the purchase of computer equipment(computers, notebooks, scanners, printers) to provide a significant improvement in services provided to elderly and / or disabled people locally, for the equivalent of up to 30% of the total budget requested
Eligibility Criteria
They may submit applications to this call:
- Civil society organizations, including foundations, non-governmental organizations and / or civil associations, that have legal status / registered and current registration before the General Inspection of Justice of the Nation, and / or registered care cooperatives and with authorization to function in the National Institute of Associativism and Social Economy, that comply with the following requirements:
- Demonstrated and verifiable experience through job references, performing actions assistance, care and / or provision of care for the elderly and / or with disabilities;
- Have at least 3 (three) years of validity;
- Not appear on the UN Security Council Sanctions List;
- Not being investigated for fraud, corruption, sexual abuse, sexual exploitation or other misconduct;
- Must not have received funding from UN Women that UN Women has fully canceled or partially;
- Not currently associated with UN Women as an associate;
- Have sufficient capacity to collaborate with various stakeholders;
- Not be a government entity, a UN organization, or a CSO with broad trajectory and demonstrated institutional capacity, since in that case it would qualify for a Matchmaking agreement, rather than qualifying for this small donation call;
- Have adequate financial management, including procedures and policies adequate financials to manage the small grant;
- If you have received small grants or have previously been associated as an associate, the Applicant’s last activity must have been considered satisfactory.
- Demonstrate experience of activities in the Argentine territory
