UN Women call for proposals to support the Design and Implementation of the Fund for Women Peacebuilders that seeks to motivate different civil society organizations (CSOs) to present proposals aimed at the design and implementation of a fund that provides technical and financial support to the IMCPs in the targeted territories.
This Call for Proposals is aimed at CSOs with extensive experience and knowledge of the national or regional reality, particularly in working with women’s organizations and initiatives in local contexts. The lead organization must have the financial and administrative capacities to handle international cooperation resources.
In this measure, through the creation of a Fund, it will seek to support the Initiatives of Women Peace Builders (IMCP) in strengthening its peacebuilding actions, managing to contribute to its visibility and greater impact.
Funding Information
The budget range for this proposal should be between US $ 65,000 and US $ 75,000.
Expected Results
The Honduras Participaz project seeks that civil society organizations contribute to achieving the established Result 2 within the work plan:
- Result: Women, youth and underrepresented groups increase their incidence and citizen participation in processes of accountability, social oversight, electoral processes and construction culture of peace, including conflict prevention and resolution
The lead organization, with the support of the technical team, shall:
- Design and implement the operational manual of the Women Peace Builders Fund (FMCP). The fund will finance different IMCP up to a maximum value of US 5,000 and a minimum value of US 4,000. The resources will be delivered in cash or in kind, or a combination of both, according to the skills assessment that is made of each of the IMCP. The manual should contain a strategy to ensure that grassroots and community organizations can access the Fund’s resources.
- Launch the FMCP and develop friendly formats for the presentation of proposals by the IMCP (eg videos, webinar).
- Carry out financial and technical monitoring of each of the IMCP, using methods and formats adapted to the local contexts. The lead organization will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and transparent use of the resources.
- Carry out capacity building actions in FMCP beneficiary organizations for the formulation, implementation and evaluation of projects and carry out exchanges of experience between the IMCPs.
- Promote and make the IMCP visible through the provision of financial tools and technical support.
- Systematize the experiences and lessons learned from the IMCP
Competencies
- Technical / functional skills required
- Experience, knowledge and participation in gender projects;
- political participation of women and underrepresented groups; or peace building or conflict prevention.
- Experience in coordinating initiatives with women’s organizations in community contexts, multicultural in topics such as prevention against violence against women and girls; participation and empowerment of women in different areas
- Experience in the region of Central America or Honduras.
- Desirable experience in projects developed in at least one of the prioritized municipalities, and capacity verifiable operational deployment in the targeted municipalities / territories.
- Other skills, which although not necessary, can be an advantage for the provision of services.
- Previous experiences in managing funds or cascading grants.
- Relevant experience in partnerships with UN Women, other UN agencies, governments, NGOs and other development actors
