The EU4Moldova: Key Regions program, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), hereby launches the Call for Proposals for projects aimed at increasing the involvement of civil society structures and local public associations in promoting and increasing the accessibility of vulnerable groups to public services provided locally in the two key regions: Cahul and Ungheni.
The overall objective of the five-year program is to strengthen economic cohesion, territorial and social development in the Republic of Moldova by facilitating local socio-economic development smart, green, inclusive, sustainable and integrated and improving living standards citizens in key regions: Cahul and Ungheni.
To achieve this goal, the Program is to address the urban-rural gap in key regions and regional disparities, stimulate growth and job creation to improve citizens’ access to quality public services and utilities, taking into account climate change, the economic recession caused by the pandemic and the factors natural risk and gender perspective in the activities of the Program.
Funding Information
- The total budget of the Call for Project Proposals is EUR 80,000.
- At least four (4) project proposals for funding will be selected under this Call. The maximum amount requested per project will not exceed EUR 20,000.
- The project implementation period does not exceed 12 months.
Target Groups
The main target groups of this Call are:
- children and young people whose health, development and physical, mental or moral integrity are harmed in the environment in which they live;
- families who do not properly fulfill their care obligations, maintenance and education of children;
- low-income or low-income families;
- families affected by domestic violence;
- people without families, who cannot manage on their own, who need care andsupervision or are unable to meet socio-medical needs;
- families with three or more children;
- single-parent families with children;
- the elderly;
- people with disabilities
- other people and families in difficulty.
Particular attention will be paid to the elderly and people with disabilities.
In order to achieve the results at the level of vulnerable groups, target groups can also be targeted secondary (final beneficiaries), such as:
- The general public;
- Persons and institutions responsible for providing public services;
- Associative sector;
- Mass media.
Eligibility Criteria
The project proposals selected under this Call will have to correspond the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant is a legally established non-governmental and non-profit organization (NGO), with legal personality, based in Cahul and Ungheni districts, organized and managed according to the provisions of the Civil Code of the Republic of Moldova (2003) and non-profit organizations;
- The project falls into eligible areas of the Call;
- The proposed activities are implemented in urban and rural communities and the beneficiaries are the population of Ungheni and / or Cahul districts;
- The target group of the project falls into the categories provided on social assistance;
- The project is supported by a letter of support from community actors / partners of implementation area.
