Applications are now open for the Norfolk Social Infrastructure Fund to support their communities in a variety of ways, from food and deliveries to tackling loneliness through befriending schemes.
The Social Infrastructure Fund is Norfolk County Council’s capital grants scheme for voluntary and non-profit making groups. This grant is part of their commitment to voluntary and community organisations. It helps strengthen local communities by providing support for local buildings and facilities.
Funding Information
£1m of funding is available this year, and this has been split into 2 pots:
- £250,000 for smaller projects of between £5,000 and £50,000
- £750,000 for larger projects between £50,000 and £250,000.

Eligibility Criteria
- This grant is for voluntary and non-profit making groups and organisations to support community initiatives that benefit Norfolk residents.
- They welcome applications from groups or organisations that are a:
- voluntary or community organisation
- community interest company
- social enterprise
- Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO)
- community benefit society
- co-operative society (if it has a not-for-profit clause)
- statutory body (including town, parish and community councils) – they’d like them to be part of the initiative but not lead it
- company limited by guarantee (if it has a not-for-profit clause).
- They can fund projects from faith organisations if they can see that there will be a clear benefit for the wider community.
Ineligible
They cannot accept applications from:
- individuals
- sole traders
- companies that are aimed at generating profits primarily for private distribution
- organisations based outside the UK
- applications made by one organisation on behalf of another
- schools
- political organisations
- organisations or groups that are exclusive or have a closed membership group and are not open to any member of the public
