The Omaha Community Foundation is seeking applications for its Community Resilience Fund to support Omaha-area organizations serving communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19. It is also designed to complement local and federal aid.
Focus Areas
- Arts and Culture: Alleviating operational uncertainty until organizations can fully reopen and restabilize earned revenue through programs, performances, and exhibits.
- Housing: Ensuring people can safely stay in their homes through legal assistance or financial support.
- Learning Recovery: Supporting enrichment programs and activities to reverse disparities that grew due to remote learning and other educational disruptions.
- Mental Health: Meeting the increased need for services and working to improve the overall mental health system.
- Workforce: Helping people gain new skills or education to find and secure stable employment.
What Action the Fund Can Support?
To help address the emerging, long-term needs of their community as it recovers and rebuilds, they will offer grants to nonprofits that provide programs and resources in five key focus areas.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Community Resilience Fund will support public, tax-exempt organizations as defined by Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or those organizations working with a 501(c)(3) fiscal agent who can receive funds on their behalf.
- This fund will prioritize community-based organizations serving people in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie counties.
