Deadline: 3-Oct-21
The Australian High Commission (AHC) is pleased to announce Direct Aid Program that aims to support small-scale projects with a strong development focus that complement Australia’s broader aid program.
Focus Areas
The DAP focuses on projects that:
- improve the livelihood of communities;
- support the inclusion and active participation of women, girls, children, persons living with a disability and those living with HIV/AIDS;
- are sustainable and have lasting development impacts.
Funding Information
The maximum DAP funding a project can receive is AUD 60,000. Projects must be delivered within six months of funding.
DAP project proposals must:
- Address poverty alleviation by supporting initiatives that aim at improving the livelihood of communities.
- Support the inclusion and active participation of marginalised populations (including women, girls, children, persons living with a disability and those living with HIV/AIDS).
- Be sustainable and have lasting developmental benefits, with any ongoing costs or maintenance to be met by the community.
DAP also looks favourably on projects:
- that promote gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- that have the support of a trustworthy referee;
- where the community makes a contribution to, or is involved in, the implementation of the project;
- where other donors also support the project; and
- that help marginalised groups in less-developed areas.
Geographic Areas
To the best extent possible, DAP supports a wide geographic spread of projects across Papua New Guinea.
Eligibility Criteria
DAP funding is only available to community groups, NGOs and other organisations engaged in development activities on a not-for-profit basis.
