The World Health Organization (WHO) Maldives is offering Small Grants for CSOs & Local Councils to enhance ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response.
Objectives
- To conduct community-based outreach activities at island and atoll levels, to strengthen and enhance the ongoing response efforts by COVID-19 task force and documentation of success stories from the field.
- These funds will support to achieve the above objective through activities that strengthen and enhance the efforts of local councils for the ongoing pandemic preparedness and response activities at island and atoll levels.
Funding Information
- Project budget should be between MVR 150,000- MVR 225,000.
- The project period should be between 2-3 months.
Expected Outcomes
The ultimate outcome of the initiative is decreased COVID-19 related mortality and morbidity, especially those experiencing marginalization and/or vulnerability.
The intermediate outputs of this initiative are:
- Increased equitable deployment and delivery of essential health services and COVID-19 tools, particularly vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics.
- Strengthened country financing processes, community engagement, and data-driven decisionmaking for more equitable deployment of COVID-19 tools including vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics.
Eligibility Criteria
- The proposal should be submitted by registered civil society organizations, agencies and local councils.
- Project proposals should be prepared according to the description and format.
- Project must be focused on the main thematic area of COVID-19 taskforce strengthening and must specifically contribute in some way, towards enhancing ongoing COVID-19 response efforts and community outreach activities.
