The Bundeskanzler Willy Brandt Stiftung has launched an open call for the Willy Brandt Small Research Grants Program 2022, a short-term grants that are intended to enable (primarily) young researchers (historians/political scientists or historians with a university degree) to complete an ongoing research project.
Projects are funded that deal directly with the work or legacy of Willy Brandt, or with a chapter of contemporary history that is connected to Brandt’s name and political life. The Foundation awards up to two Small Research Grants per year.
The Federal Chancellor Willy Brandt Foundation 2022 is focusing on one of Willy Brandt’s central concerns during his chancellorship. With a series of reform projects and laws, the social-liberal coalition enabled more participation in politics, society and the economy.
Funding Information
The amount of the short-term grant is determined on a case-by-case basis and is up to EUR 5,000.
Criteria
There is no legal entitlement to a Willy Brandt Small Research Grant. A Willy Brandt Small Research Grant can support e.g. e.g.:
- Archive stays in Germany and abroad
- taking a sabbatical, which may be used to write a scientific essay or a larger research lecture.
A curriculum vitae, a project outline (max. 2 pages) and a letter of recommendation from a tutor should be attached to the letter of application.
