The European Commission is inviting proposals to Support Simple Programmes – Fresh Fruit and Vegetables.
Scope
- The Commission is committed to promoting balanced and healthy dietary practices, in line with the European Commission’s white paper on a strategy on nutrition, overweight, and obesity related health issues. Actions shall highlight the benefits of consuming fresh fruit and vegetables in a balanced diet. The messages could notably focus on: aiming at having at least 5 portions of a variety of fruit and vegetables each day; the place of fruit and vegetables in the food pyramid, beneficial impact of fruit and vegetable consumption on health.
- The objective is to increase the consumption of EU fresh fruit and vegetables by informing consumers about balanced and healthy dietary practices.
- The expected ultimate impact is to enhance the competitiveness and consumption of the concerned Union agri-food products, raise their profile and increase their market share.

Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible, the applicants must:
- be legal entities (public or private bodies)
- be established in an EU Member State (including overseas countries and territories (OCTs))
- be eligible organisations or bodies
