Deadline: 9-May-22
The City of Champlin has launched an open call for the 2022 Landscaping for Water Quality Grants Program to support neighborhood-landscaping practices that improve water quality and expand pollinator habitat.
To encourage these practices and to demonstrate their potential for successfully fulfilling both environmental and aesthetic requirements, the City has established a grant program for landscapes that benefit water quality and pollinator habitat.
Funding Information
The maximum grant amount for any single project is $500. The ERC will consider funding of up to $2,000 for a group project. The total available amount in 2022 is $2,000. There is no requirement for matching funds.
Eligible Activities
Activities that transform a portion of a lawn or outlot to improve water quality and pollinator habitat are eligible. Priority is given for all seeds and plantings being indigenous to Minnesota prairies, savannas, woodlands or wetlands.
Eligibility Criteria
Individual property owners, community associations, businesses, and schools are eligible to apply for the grant.
Requirements
- Recipients will be asked to work with the City to seek media coverage for their project.
- Recipients will be asked to allow others to view their project. This will be part of an ongoing effort to educate other Champlin residents about the benefits of native landscaping.
- All publications and publicity generated as part of this project must include acknowledgment of the City of Champlin.
