The Variety the Children’s Charity is now accepting applications for the TechKids Grant Program to provide assistive technology to help WA kids with their education, communication, behavioural regulation and safety.
They provide assistance that is not accessible through government funding or alternative services.
Funding Information
Technology:
- Tablets (iPad etc.): Request limit $1,200
- Laptop / computer
- C-Pen / scanning pen
- Software
- GPS watches
- Accessories
Ineligible Requests
- Equipment where funding is available from the government or other grant funds
- Individuals 18 years of age and older
- Projects that require recurrent funding
- Expenses considered to be part of an individual’s typical cost of living
- Warranties, insurance, maintenance, service agreements, batteries or repairs
- Subscriptions or plan costs
- Services or training costs
- Retrospective expenses
- Incomplete application forms
Eligibility Criteria
- Child is residing in WA
- Child is aged 0-17 (must be under 18 at time of submission)
- Child has a disability or sickness (long-term health condition)
- The family household income is below the guide
- Equipment is not available via government funded or alternative sources
Additional Information
- Variety TechKids Grant rounds are typically open between January and November, current information will be available on the Variety WA website
- Submissions are reviewed by the Kids Support Committee; a group of qualified professionals representing the allied health, community and education sectors
- Outcomes are communicated 4-6 weeks after the closing date of your application round
- The outcome may be delayed if your submission requires additional review
