The United Palestinian Appeal accepts proposals for Annual Projects that align with its mission to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians, especially those in the West Bank, the Gaza Strip and refugee camps in Lebanon and Jordan, and to contribute to the long-term socioeconomic and cultural development of Palestinian society.
Sectors
- UPA awards grants for projects that address Palestinian needs in one of the four following sectors:
- Health and wellness.
- Education
- Community and Economic Development
- Outreach.
Funding Information
- For proposals submitted during this cycle (that is, for projects beginning in 2022), the minimum grant amount is $20,000 and the maximum is $50,000.
Criteria
- Alignment (UPA): Grant proposal fits with the UPA’s Mission, Vision, Values and Areas of Focus
- Context: Proposed project reflects knowledge of the field, target populations and the local community. The proposal identifies how the project will serve marginalized communities.
- Experience: Grant proposal clearly states previous experience and success in similar interventions
- Experience with UPA: did the organization work with UPA before? Was it a successful experience? (i.e., implementation, reporting, results)
- Outcomes: Grant proposal includes a description of how funding will improve the lives of beneficiaries
- Staffing & partnerships: Grant proposal includes sufficient staffing, and partnerships from peer organizations, private sector or governmental institutions, to ensure success.
- Workplan: The proposal should provide an action plan with a timetable of project stages, quantifiable targets and clear lines of responsibility that show that the project can be completed.
- Clarity & completeness: Proposal is clear, realistic, goals and outcomes are measurable. All information has been completed.
- Sustainability: the proposal is taking into account the continuity of the objectives and or activities into the future and beyond the grant duration.
- Budget: Proposal budget is reasonable, cost-effective and reflects the technical proposal
