The Georgia Recycling Coalition is accepting applications for its annual Spirit of Green Awards 2017 in order to recognize excellence in recycling and waste reduction in Georgia.
Award Categories
- GRC Volunteer of the Year – GRC members who have provided the organization with value-added benefits toward achieving its mission
- New GRC Member of the Year – New member who has brought leadership and innovation to the organization
- Outstanding Institutional Program – May include college, university, military installations, or campus/industrial entities
- Outstanding Government/Community Program – Local program that exemplifies comprehensive and sustainable components and practices
- Outstanding Corporate Leader – Business that has implemented exemplary waste reduction/recycling programs for its industry
- Innovation Award – Program or individual that has developed original, unique, and potentially model programs or projects
- Environmental Stewardship – Individual or organization whose actions sustain the recycling industry’s viability
Eligibility Criteria
- Age Groups: Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 6th Grade, 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, 10th Grade, 11th Grade, 12th Grade, Adults
- Environmental Focus: Medium: Consumer Education, Recycling/Waste Management, Team-building/Problem-solving
- Academic Focus: Medium: Character Education, Interdisciplinary, Math, Science, Social Studies.
