Deadline: 26-June-2026
The Bundaberg Regional Council has outlined its strategic goals and focus areas through the Financial Assistance Program, designed to support initiatives that enhance the profile of the region while aligning with the Council’s Corporate Plan 2025-2030.
The Council’s vision emphasizes creating a liveable, vibrant, and connected community, with focus areas including a connected community, a focused council, a robust economy, and the preservation of natural assets.
The Financial Assistance Program provides over $15,000 per application to support eligible initiatives. Applicants can submit only one application per financial year, or a maximum of two applications for the same initiative. Additionally, initiatives cannot receive funding through any other Council financial assistance program for the same purpose, including fee waivers.
Eligible applicants include registered organizations with an ABN or ACN, as well as not-for-profit organizations. Projects must be delivered within the Bundaberg local government area, benefit residents, adhere to workplace health and safety practices, and maintain appropriate insurance. Applications should demonstrate significant regional benefit, attract visitors, and be financially viable with strategies for sustainability after funding ends. Applicants are also expected to have the necessary qualifications and experience to deliver the initiative.
Ineligible applications include initiatives led by government bodies, schools, universities, political organizations, or individuals. Projects that pose health, safety, or environmental hazards, conflict with Council policies, or do not provide significant community or economic benefit will also be rejected. Retrospective funding requests or applications from organizations that have not satisfactorily acquitted previous grants are not considered.
The program does not fund fundraising initiatives that redirect funds to third parties, donations, personal payments, ongoing operational expenses, capital items, privately owned assets, political activities, or payment of Council venue hire, permits, or licensing fees. Through this program, Bundaberg Regional Council aims to support initiatives that strengthen the region’s community, economy, and cultural profile while ensuring alignment with its strategic vision.
