The Dubai Design Week is inviting designers, architects, collectives, creative practitioners, and design-led companies to submit proposals for outdoor installations to be unveiled during the 11th edition, taking place from 4–9 November 2025 in Dubai Design District.
Whilst there is no set theme, proposals should adopt a holistic perspective, highlighting design’s potential to foster inclusive, community-focused environments. Installations should reflect a considered use of materials and methods, prioritising sustainable and socially responsible production, with an emphasis on locally and regionally sourced resources. Experimental approaches and innovative material applications that create tangible expressions.
Dubai Design Week welcomes submissions from both emerging and established practitioners, both locally and internationally. Successful proposals will benefit from Dubai Design Week’s comprehensive regional and international PR and marketing campaign, including: Dedicated webpages on the Dubai Design Week website and app, Media and digital marketing support, Visibility across key platforms throughout the 2025 programme. Through the Installation Open Call, successful proposals will have the opportunity to be considered for a production bursary to execute the pavilion.
Eligibility Criteria
- The proposal must adhere to a responsible design approach, taking into account sustainable use of materials and production processes, construction, installation and operational processes
- Proposals need to be original and the participant confirms that they are the owner of all appropriate intellectual property rights in the submission
- The proposal must incorporate suitable materials for outdoor use and consideration for year-round weather conditions in Dubai
- The proposal must adhere to a well-defined timeline for production and installation
