Deadline: 03-Sep-2025
The Danish Arts Foundation invites applications for its Literary Events and Projects Grant Program, which supports initiatives that promote Danish literature and authors internationally. This includes events, translation mentorship, and network support for translators. The program aims to increase access to literature in Denmark and abroad, with a special focus on reaching groups that do not typically engage with literary works. Innovative and creative approaches are especially encouraged.
Grants of up to DKK 100,000 are disbursed close to the project start date, while larger grants for projects longer than six months are paid in instalments. Eligible costs include festivals and events promoting Danish literature, projects focusing on Danish authors and illustrators, network activities for translators, mentor support of DKK 6,000 for translation projects, and research trips for foreign translators, agents, and publishers.
Funding is not available for projects involving academic, local history, self-help, or reference literature, nor for projects completed before the application deadline. Eligible applicants include organizers of literary events, translators, and publishers. The project must be based on Danish literature, and participating authors, illustrators, and translators must have at least one published Danish-language work. Public events must be accessible and clearly announced.
Applicants should ensure that all required documentation is attached in PDF, Word, MP3, or MP4 format, not exceeding a total of 25 MB. ZIP files are not accepted. Only the most recently submitted version of an application will be reviewed. Applications must be complete at the time of submission, as supplementary materials will not be considered. The applicant cannot transfer the application or grant to another person or entity, so accurate applicant information is essential.
