Are you a young changemaker passionate about gender and youth development in the Bangsamoro region? This is your chance!
The Ideation Impact Challenge is BYC’s official grant scheme mechanism for funding youth-led gender-focused policy research initiatives. This flagship program aims to support and advance policy research proposals, with specific focus on youth and gender studies, through providing funding opportunities. In partnership with emerging young scholars, this project intends to delve into the nuanced challenges faced by young men and women in the Bangsamoro, seeking to promote evidence-based policymaking and solutions.
Moreover, IIC aims to deepen understanding on the social, economic, and cultural factors influencing youth and women, while empowering young researchers to engage in meaningful collaboration and actively contribute to knowledge production beneficial for designing impactful policy strategies for the Bangsamoro youth and women.
For this year’s proposals, applications are encouraged to explore topics on areas such as the gendered dimensions of youth development anchored to the ten (10) Centers of Youth Participation identified by the National Youth Commission and the Bangsamoro Youth Transition Priority Agenda.
Funding Information
- Four (4) selected proposals will receive up to ₱150,000 in funding to explore and address key policy issues in BARMM.
Geographic Scope of Research
- The research must focus on young men and women in one or several of the following provinces of BARMM, these include: Maguindanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Basilan with Lamitan City, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Sur, Special Geographic Areas, and Cotabato City. No other geographic coverage will be considered for funding.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants are welcome to form partnerships or coalitions to undertake the research. For example, partnerships could consist of universities or non-profits partnered with accredited youth-led and youth-serving organizations. The lead applicant, must fall into one of the following categories:
- Accredited youth-serving and youth-led organizations
- Government entity
- Academe
- Civil Society Organizations
- Individual researcher (self-employed or affiliated with the one of the above entities)
- Private sector institutions
Application Requirements
- Applications should comprehensively accomplish the research proposal template provided. Proposals must:
- have a clearly defined research question;
- situated within the broader contexts of gender and youth studies;
- actionable and practicable within the provided funding support;
- robust methodology and ethical guidelines;
