Applications are now open for the Social Impact Award (SIA) 2023 to raise awareness of social entrepreneurship among young people, companies, state institutions, actors in the academic and the scientific community, as well as the interested public.
Social Impact Award (SIA) represents the largest European program of support for youth social entrepreneurship, which was launched in 2009 by Impact Hub Vienna, in partnership with the Erste Foundation and the University of Business and Economics in Vienna. From 2022, this project in Montenegro implemented by the NGO Center for Youth Education, which has a multi-year license for the realization of all project activities and brand presentation.
Realization of activities contributes to stronger education in the field of innovation, knowledge and skills, as well as concrete support for ideas, which have the potential for realization and positive social impact in Montenegro, but also around the world.
The program is intended for young people between the ages of 15 and 30, who apply independently or as part of teams to participate in the program, and whose ideas suit fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Benefits
- They will announce four winning teams, the expert jury chooses three teams that win further mentoring and financial support in the amount of 1,500 euros, while one team takes the title of winner by community vote and wins further mentoring support. One member of each team, together with the coordinator, goes to the SIA Summit, which will be held from November 15 to 19 in Vienna.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants for the Social Impact Award Montenegro must fulfill the following conditions:
- All team members must be born between January 1, 1992 and December 31, 2007;
- At least one team member must reside in the country where he/she is applying for the Social Impact Award;
- Applicants did not participate in SIA incubation nor won SIA in previous years, with the same idea ;
- The idea neither received funds nor generated income before January 1, 2021;
- The idea did not receive formalized financial support from an external party, i.e. 3000 euros (e.g. prize money, grants, investments) before the submission date;
- Winners from previous years with the same idea but with a different team composition can apply;
- Winners from previous years can apply, but with a different idea;
- Only those applications that are complete and submitted through the Application and Evaluation Platform within the given deadline can be considered.
