The Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) is seeking Proposals from International Non-Governmental Organisations (INGOs) for human rights work that has the development and welfare of developing countries.
Focus Areas
- Fighting Impunity for human rights violations: Aim to promote human rights through work that contributes to the elimination of impunity for human rights violations.
- Funding available: The total amount of funding available for this thematic area is maximum 2 100 000 euros (for 3 years), the funding being subject to parliamentary approval.
- Support for Human Rights Defenders: Aim to promote an enabling environment for human rights promotion and support the work of human rights defenders.
- Funding available: The total amount of funding available for this thematic area is maximum 1 300 000 euros (for 3 years), the funding being subject to parliamentary approval.
Eligibility Criteria
- The MFA considers INGOs to be non-profit organisations that operate politically and administratively independent of governments. To be eligible an INGO has to meet the following Minimum Requirements.
- The INGO has to have:
- at least three different nationalities represented in its governing structures;
- operations in more than two countries;
- been registered /or legally competent for at least two years;
- funding from at least one other source.
