The Comparative Research Programme on Poverty (CROP), in co-operation with Zed Book is seeking proposals for its CROP International Studies in Poverty Prize 2017 with an aim to recognise works challenging the dominant thinking and knowledge about poverty and providing sound contributions to the eradication and/or prevention of poverty are especially welcomed.

Poverty must be the central focus of the proposed manuscripts. Innovative proposals are accepted from all disciplines of the social sciences and the humanities.

The Comparative Research Programme on Poverty is a programme of the International Social Science Council (ISSC), hosted by the University of Bergen and devoted to supporting independent, alternative and critical knowledge and learning that can inform policy.

The winner of the CROP International Studies in Poverty Prize 2017 will receive the equivalent of NOK 50,000.
