ENEA Consulting has launched the ENEA Access Call for Projects to engage Non Profits, NGOs, Technology Developers, and Social Entrepreneurs in developing their energy access initiatives in Africa. To achieve this objective ENEA Consulting has committed to providing each selected project with 30 – 100 days of its consulting services on a pro-bono basis. In 2017, ENEA will launch two calls for projects to select these projects developers.
ENEA combines economic performance with social engagement in a hybrid model creating new values: advising public and private leaders worldwide about energy transition while doing volunteer work with social entrepreneurs and NGOs.
Each awarded projects will receive 30 – 100 days of consulting services provided by ENEA Consulting, a value of up to 120,000 €.
Program Pillars
- VOLUNTEERING: Pro bono consulting for social entrepreneurs and NGOs selected through calls for projects.
- DEVELOPMENT AXIS: Specialized services for private companies, national and international public authorities and funders of energy access across the world.
- KNOWLEDGE SHARING: Sharing information through the publication of research articles and feedback reports.
Benefits
Depending on the maturity of the project, these services may span all phases of a project’s development:
- Realization of feasibility studies, market studies and technology benchmarks to precise applicant’s project design
- Analysis and business models / business plans construction to define applicant’s positioning
- Support in pilot project implementation to test applicant’s solution in real conditions
- Definition of the strategy, realization of techno-economic analysis, process management, partners identification to scale-up applicant’s solution / business model
- Environmental and socio-economic impacts evaluation to add value to applicant’s project with potential donors
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects must clearly contribute to the reduction of poverty and/or climate change impacts as a result of improved access to energy.
- Projects must be located in at least one of the continental African countries or surrounding associated islands. No restrictions are made regarding the home country of the applying organization.
- Project leaders must be represented by a registered entity.
- The applying organization must have a clear financial need for pro-bono consulting services.
Selection Criteria
- The level of local impact of the project in energy access and/or energy services
- Environmental, Social, and Economic sustainability
- Scalability and/or replicability
- Transparency of the project leaders and their willingness to share useful information within the energy access community
- Use of innovative technologies and/or business models
- The impact ENEA’s pro-bono consulting services can have on the success of the project
