The GBV Prevention Network is seeking applicants for its “16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence Campaign” with a motive to focus on making education safe for girls and young women. The campaign will explore how discrimination and experiences of violence inhibit girls’ ability to access and/or benefit from the education system.
The 2016 global campaign will focus on the relationship between militarism and the right to education in situations of violent conflict and relative peace, and in various education settings.
Priority Issues
- Girls’ access to education (girls’ enrollment and retention in school until they attain higher level education)
- Safety at school
- The educational system

Horn of Africa: Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia.
Eastern Africa: Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Somalia, Burundi, Seychelles, Comoros.
Southern Africa: Angola, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
