Deadline: 31 December 2016
The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies at the University of Ottawa is inviting applications for its Bank of Montreal Visiting Scholar in Women’s Studies for 2017-2018. The purpose of this fund is to attract highly qualified researchers working on feminist, women’s or gender issues.
The Visiting Scholar will be required to present their ongoing research project in conferences and/or seminars and to interact with the community of students and colleagues.
The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies is associated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and its mandate is to promote the development of feminist education and research in both a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary setting.
It accomplishes this through its undergraduate and graduate programs, by providing the infrastructure required for interuniversity and community exchanges, and by generating and disseminating knowledge (symposiums, conferences, seminars and workshops) on feminism, gender relations and women in all their diversity.
- The recipient will receive a maximum of $4,000, which may be used to supplement research and/or travel expenses. Scholars with alternative funding will be considered.
- The Visiting Scholar’s stay should be from three (3) to six (6) months within the university’s academic year, from September to April.
- The Institute of Feminist and Gender Studies invites applications from Canadian and non-Canadian scholars, both tenured and untenured faculty, and from post-doctoral or independent scholars who are pursuing critical feminist research.
- Individuals must have a Ph.D. to be considered for this position.
How to Apply
Applications should include a letter of intent, curriculum vitae, a detailed statement of the research project (2 pages maximum), copies of, or links to, recent publications, the dates of the proposed stay at the University of Ottawa and the names of two referees through the given website.
