The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Nigeria on behalf of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is inviting proposals from qualified non-governmental organisations/firms for a large scale project entitled “Response to Drugs and Related Organized Crime in Nigeria”.
The project is funded by the European Union under the 10th European Development Fund (EDF) modality with an aim to support Nigeria’s efforts in fighting drug production, trafficking and use, and in curbing related organised crime, including counterfeit narcotics and psychotropic substances. The project proposes a balanced approach to drug control, with equal attention paid to drug interdiction and drug demand reduction, including drug prevention, treatment and care (DPTC).
Target Groups
- The primary target group comprises: people who use drugs (including injecting drug users); and their partners and families.
- The beneficiaries should be 200 people who use drugs and their partners and families in the identified local community setting. (Beneficiaries are those who access services at the drop-in-centre).
Activities
- Providing community-based drug dependence treatment services in Nigeria (1NGO/CSO)
- Providing community-based drug dependence treatment services to female drug users in Nigeria (2 NGOs/CSOs)
