The Chick-fil-A has announced its True Inspiration Awards to celebrate and support nonprofit organizations making an impact in their local communities.
Since 2015, the True Inspiration Awards program has carried on Chick-fil-A Founder S. Truett Cathy’s legacy of generosity and community service by providing grants to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen the communities.
Funding Information
This year, Chick-fil-A granted $5 million to organizations that work in the areas of Caring for People, Caring for others through Food, Caring for the Communities or Caring for the Planet.
Award Areas
Sixteen organizations will be awarded for their work in these areas.
- Caring for People (four winners): Programs or projects supporting educational initiatives, including fostering character and leadership development, academic excellence and community involvement in underserved youth.
- Caring through Food (four winners): Programs or projects focused on addressing hunger and food insecurity facing children and their families.
- Community (four winners): Programs or projects focused on providing housing and other direct services to support young people and their families.
- Caring for the Planet (four winners): Programs or projects that show care for the environment and the planet, or that demonstrate environmental stewardship through initiatives directly related to the other True Inspiration Awards categories of food, community and people (i.e., community beautification, education opportunities, community gardens, outdoor classrooms, etc.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations must be a (i) a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the U.S. or Puerto Rico or (ii) a Canadian charitable organization that can provide an opinion of counsel that confirms it is the equivalent of a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity in its home jurisdiction. Organizations must be based in the U.S., Puerto Rico or Canada to be eligible.
- Organizations who received a True Inspiration Awards grant in 2022 or 2023 will not be eligible to apply for the 2024 True Inspiration Awards.
- Organizations must also have needs that align with the Corporate Social Responsibility priorities: Caring for People, Caring for Others through Food, Caring for the Communities and Caring for the Planet.
