Deadline: 31-Oct-2025
The State Bank of India Foundation (SBIF) has announced a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage non-profit organizations in India for funding projects focused on transforming Old-Age Homes into elder-friendly, safe, and dignified living spaces.
The focus areas of SBIF are Rural Development, Healthcare, Women Empowerment, Child Development, Disability & Inclusion, Education, Livelihoods/Entrepreneurship and Environment.
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to invite potential grantees with a proven track record in geriatric care homes to implement projects in the aforementioned thematic areas during the financial years 2025–26 and 2026–27. SBIF aims to identify capable organizations that can deliver impactful and sustainable interventions aligned with national and global standards for elderly care. The initiative underscores the Foundation’s commitment to ensuring holistic well-being for senior citizens by improving infrastructure and services in care homes.
Eligibility criteria include financial and operational benchmarks. For project proposals below ₹1.00 crore, the organization’s cumulative revenue for the last three financial years (2021–22, 2022–23, 2023–24, and 2024–25 if available) must be at least ₹2.00 crore. For proposals above ₹1.00 crore, the cumulative revenue requirement rises to ₹5.00 crore. Only one proposal can be submitted by an agency at a time, and the organization must have a presence in the proposed project location.
The evaluation process will be conducted by SBI Foundation based on its defined shortlisting criteria. Applicants are required to submit supporting documents including past project completion reports, third-party assessments, work experience details, audited financials, and a signed copy of the RFP on each page.
They are also required to provide declarations confirming non-discrimination, non-blacklisting, and non-involvement in fraudulent or corrupt practices. Sub-letting, subcontracting, or outsourcing of project activities is not permitted.
Proposals must be submitted in English, and the applying organization should be a registered non-profit entity such as a Trust, Society, or company established under an Act of Parliament or State Legislature in India. Applicants must have a minimum of three years of experience in operating, managing, and administering residential care facilities or institutional support centres for the elderly.
The deadline for applications is 31 October 2025.
